my indoor plants have moldy soil. Does the complete soil need to be changed? Or is there something I can add to the soil to counteract the mold.

You may be keeping the soil too moist, or the air circulation is poor around your houseplants. You can simply scrape the mold off with a spoon, then put a fresh layer of potting soil on top.
