What can you tell me about Pennyroyal? My Western Garden Book does not list it; and all I know is that it's a ground cover for shady areas.

Pennyroyal is Mentha pulegium (it's listed in Sunset Western Garden Book under the botanical name). It's a creeping plant that grows only a few inches tall with round 1-inch leaves and small lavender flowers. It has a stong mint fragrance. Pennyroyal needs a cool, moist, partly shady spot to grow best.
