My two dogs play in our yard. Is there a pet-safe weed-killer/fertilizer?

I would use a product with a Corn Gluten Meal base. It's natural and safe. It is a pre emergent, though, so it won't tackle the existing weeds but will keep new weed seeds from germinating. At this point you may need to hand pull or dig the weeds and then apply the pre emergence. Or, use a chemical control and keep your pets out of the area for the time recommended on the label. Once you get the existing weeds down and apply a corn gluten meal pre emergent, you shouldn't have many weed problems. Good luck with your landscape.
