The Q&A Archives: combining plants

Question: heard you could mix plants (peas with carrots) to make them grow better. Can you also mix flowers if so what can you mix togther??

Answer: The best flower companions are those that appreciate and enjoy the same cultural requirements. So, planting types that like hot sun and dry soils makes sense, as does planting several plants that prefer shade and moist soils. If you take your cue from the plant's needs, you can have a colorful array in all parts of your garden.
