I would like to plant some flowers in 2 window boxes that receive an abundance of sun during the day. Can you suggest some nice plants for that. Also, can you mix annuals and perennials in those boxes?

You can mix annuals and perennials in your window boxes. A major consideration in choosing plants for sun drenched window boxes is the amount of heat the roots of yoru plants will be subjected to so be sure to check daily for watering needs or your plants might dry out too quickly. You have lots and lots of choices! How about petunias, nasturtium, celosia, miniature sunflowers, heliotrope (purple), geraniums (including ivy-leaf types), portulaca, or small zinnias like the pinwheel series. You might also include some herbs like sage, purple basil, or lavender. Hope this gives you some ideas!
