| When you prune roses (or anything for that matter) try to prune just above a leaf node that is pointing in the direction you want the new growth to take. With roses you will want the new growth to be from an outside facing bud. This will keep the center of the plant more open which will promote good air circulation and provide more sunshine for more flowers. With roses, if you prune the stem down to just above a 5-leaflet leaf, you'll get more flowers. Hope this clarifies things for you. |
