The Q&A Archives: chlorotic Red Maple

Question: Is there anything I can do to help my red maple? The tree has been suffering from chlorotic symptoms for the past few years.

Answer: Iron chlorosis occurs when iron in the soil is either deficient or unavailable to the tree because of soil pH. You can apply iron sulfate to the soil under the canopy of the tree. Use in amounts as recommended on the product label. You may not see a difference this year but you will certainly see an improvement next spring.
