The Q&A Archives: saving a young tree

Question: i bought for 1/2 price a cherry tree. it has somoe new growth but the old leaves have turned brown and dying or dead. i have sprayed the tree with a mix to kill most disese. how often should i spray the tree

Answer: I wouldn't spray it any more but I would prune the branches back to encourage healthy new growth. If the tree was distressed for a long period of time it may take a long time for it to recover. The best thing you can do for it is to water it once or twice a week and let it establish and recover. You should see some new growth when the roots become strong again. Good luck with your tree!
