The Q&A Archives: Transplanting question

Question: I am moving and want to take my lilac bush with me...when is a good time to transplant my lilac bush???

Answer: Spring is the best time to dig and transplant landscape trees and shrubs. If your lilac has not bloomed this year, moving it will affect its ability to flower but once you get it transplanted you can prune it back and it will develop flower buds for next spring's floral display. Best wishes with the move.
