Do you know any annuals that deer don't care for besides marigolds? I live in Evergreen, Colorado and was just wondering if anyone has discovered any secrets with the deer and their taste buds?

There aren't many annuals deer won't eat - marigolds and petunias seem to be safe, but hungry deer will eat almost anything so there are no guarantees. Here's a partial list of flowering plants deer generally ignore: Yarrow, Columbine, Astilbe, Coreopsis,Dianthus,Bleeding Heart,Foxglove, Purple Coneflower, Epimedium, Iris, Cranesbill, Helleborus, Sunflower, Candytuft, Goldenrod, and Veronica. You might also try using Deer Away, a deterrent you spray on the foliage. It works but needs to be reapplied after a rain. Good luck with your garden!
