looking for safe way to control hormworms on my tomato plants. We raise butterflies (giant swallow tail, monarch, black swallow tail, gulf frittralry) so naturally we do not want to hurt us or our precious butterflies.

In your garden, the only safe way of controlling hornworms is hand picking them. The usual recommendation is Bt (bacillus thuringensis) which targets only caterpillars. Since you don't want to apply something to your plants that might kill butterfly caterpillars, your best option is to handpick the hornworms so the butterfly caterpillars will be safe.
