There are actually 3 plants commonly called vinca. Two are evergreen groundcovers, one is a summer annual. Annual vinca (Catharanthus roseus) is sometimes called Madagascar periwinkle and is a warm season annual. It will flower for you all summer and into fall. Vinca minor and Vinca major, also called periwinkle, are vining plants often used as groundcover. Hope this clarifies things for you!
