I'm re-using last season pot soil. I Just mixed it with fresh compost and removed roots and stems that have not discomposed yet. Do I needed to remove all un-composted material? or could I had just left it alone?. Thank you

I often reuse potting soil and do exactly what you've done. Any remaining roots should decompose on their own without any assistance from you. I think your potting soil is just fine for annuals or perennials. Best wishes with your new plants.
