I know it's frustrating to lose your beautiful hybrid irises but they often are overtaken by the standard purple color irises because the rhizomes are so much more vigorous than the beautiful hybrids. Most of the hybrids die out over the winter months and you are left with the more vigorous standard purple flowering types. It usually takes about 3 years for this to happen and I have yet to come up with a way to prevent this. I've even tried planting mine in containers but that doesn't help either. If you want those colorful irises you'll need to plant new ones every few years. Wish I had better news for you!
