The Q&A Archives: cold weather

Question: my funds are low and I need 2 cover my plants
they survived last night of 33 degree low
what cn I use? I work nites. I thought about a
brown lunch bag over my plants. I have gladiolus,
lilys and marigolds. my
cannas are not up yet.
I also have white christmas( not up yet)

Answer: You can cover them overnight will old sheets, table cloths or towels. Or drive a couple of stakes into the ground and drape an old blanket over the stakes to protect the whole bed. Lunch bags probably won't offer much protection but large heavyweight paper grocery bags will. Let's hope it warms up soon!
