The Q&A Archives: Covering tomato plants in Mid-May

Question: what is the best way to protect container tomato plants from an unexpected frost

Answer: If they are in containers you can just move them into a garage or outbuilding that remains above freezing. Or you can group them together in a protected corner of your patio or porch and set a cardboard box over them. Do this after the sun goes down and be sure to take it off in the morning. Good luck with your tomatoes!
