I thought a jade plant could withstand direct sun light? Mine withered very badly and almost died. Could you please give me some helpful advice?

Jade is one of the tree-like succulents that likes some sunlight, but needs to be protected from extended periods of exposure to hot afternoon sunshine. It's great that you were able to rescue your plant before it was too late. You may be able to move it back a few feet from the window, or provide a sheer curtain over the window to soften the sun's rays.
