I saw a drawf apple tree at home depot and I wonder how big they get and how long it takes to produce fruit? Also, we have a lot of deer in our area. Am I asking for trouble by having an apple tree? I live in Minnesota.

Deer love apple trees but you can try to deter them by using a repellant such as Deer Away or Ropel. You'll need two different varieties of apple trees in order to have a heavy crop so I hope you have room for two. Most dwarf apple trees grow less that 6' tall and wide, and you can keep them smaller with annual pruning. About 3-4 years of age is when you will start to get apples. Enjoy your new trees!
