Last year I planted a hibiscus. During the cold weather it lost its leaves. This spring the shrub came back. But the leaves are what appear to be less than 1/2 their normal size. It is however producing numerous flowers with the small leaves. Is this normal?

It is normal and as the season progresses your plant will develop larger, healthier looking leaves. Hibiscus thrives in the heat so I think your plant will develop lots of healthy new leaves and lots of flowers by the middle of June. Enjoy!
