| I have recently planted a Forest Pansy Redbud (late winter) it has been doing very well until now. It is showing signs that it has been overwatered and fungi has begun to grow in the area it is located. My concern is I have I gone to far to fix the problem; or will reducing the watering fix the problem? It also has been showing signs of insects eating the leaves; is there a solution to this as well? | Now that you've recognized the problem of over watering, cutting back on the frequency of watering will help. One deep soaking per week should be fine for your redbud. Insects seem to gravitate toward plants under stress so as soon as your redbud perks up and is growing well, the insects shouldn't cause too much damage. Try to capture a few so you can identify them. If they become a problem you can find an insecticide that specifically targets them. In the meantime just give your redbud good care and it should be fine. Enjoy your garden! |
