The Q&A Archives: Planting Heather

Question: How do I plant heather?

Answer: Heather prefer to grow in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Raised beds are terrific for them. Amend the soil with lots of organic matter and then dig a hole twice the size of the root mass. Refill with soil and plant the heather so the roots are as deep in the ground as they were in the container. Then water well, stand back, and enjoy your new plant!
