Viburnum macrocephalum (Chinese Snowball Viburnum) doesn't require much pruning but if you want to make your shrub smaller, wait until the flowering has finished and then prune it back. You can selectively prune overly long branches or you can shear it with hedge trimmers. You can remove up to one third of the shrub without stressing it too much. If you prune on an annual basis you can keep it compact, dense and full of flowers. Enjoy!
