The Q&A Archives: Growing annuals

Question: Does annuals mean you need to plant them annually or that they only flower once a year?

Answer: Annual flowers grow, flower, set seeds and die in one growing season. If you keep the faded flowers trimmed off of an annual it will bloom for a longer period of time. There are cool season annuals and warm season annuals. Cool season annuals will die off when the weather gets too warm; warm season annuals will grow and bloom as long as the weather is warm and you keep the dead flowers trimmed off. Hope this answers your question!
