How often and for how long do you recommend watering lawns?

The deeper the roots, the less of a slave you'll be to watering and the more drought resistant your lawn will be. I'd try watering every 4 days during the hottest part of the year, applying water for 15 minutes, turning it off to allow the water to be absorbed into the ground, then watering again for another 15 minutes. This should deliver between a half inch and an inch of water (depending upon water pressure). Your lawn should thrive on about one inch of water per week. Best wishes with your lawn!
