We planted a nursery-grown rhubarb plant in a cow manure pile. The problem is that the leaves are big but the stems don't get any bigger around than my finger. Should i transplant it somewhere not so rich?

That's the ticket! Often plants that are planted in overly fertile soil will have an imbalance of growth that leans towards lush foliage at the expense of all else! Better luck next year!
