Cleveland Pear Tree - Sparse Leaves - Knowledgebase Question

Have had this tree several years with no problem. This is the second year with sparse leaves. Was told last year make sure water during winter. Have done that and still sparse. Any thoughts?

I think your tree is struggling, but I'm not sure why. Deep watering will help keep the root system healthy, which should result in healthy new growth. Lack of adequate sunshine, insect infestation and even diseases can all contribute to poor growth. If you tree is in full sun, you feed and water it regularly and you don't see any signs of insect or disease problems, I can only suggest that you try pruning it back to encourage new growth. Wish I had more suggestions for you.
