The Q&A Archives: herbacides

Question: what can I broadcast in the garden to kill or prevent weeds that won't hurt some of the grown covers that used to be considered weeds like ajugas and speedwells

Answer: Wish there were a product but broadleaf weed killers will kill broadleaf plants such as ajuga and speedwell. In those beds, hand pulling is best. Once you've gotten rid of the weeds you can apply a pre emergent product such as Preen to keep weed seeds from sprouting in and around your ajuga and speedwell. Enjoy your garden!
