| You can dig and divide your hostas now. The root mass will be quite dense and sometimes the easiest way to divide the plants is to cut right through the root mass with a shovel. Just make sure each division has both roots and leaves, and replant them as soon as possible. They will re-establish themselves in a few weeks and develop healthy new leaves.
