| Squirrels can be real pests. However, they are going to be attracted by the bird seed no matter what you do. Some people suggest setting out corn to distract the squirrels, so maybe that would work for you, too. Hanging the feeders at a distance from your house or trees so they can't jump onto the feeder may be the easiest solution, possibly using the squirrel proof metal feeders with a weight sensitive perch which closes the feeder when a squirrel arrives. Alternatively there are repellent sprays on the market, labeled for animals including squirrels. Hope this helps! |
