I cut back the bush at the end of the fall. It is showing no signs of life. Have I killed it?

Butterfly bushes often freeze down to ground level in the winter so pruning yours back in late fall should be just fine. They like warm soils and warm air temperatures so I think yours is just a little slow in sprouting. But soon you should see new growth and it should make up for lost time, providing you with lots of flowers this summer. Good luck with your butterfly bush.
