Answer: Have you tried pinching out just the tips of your basil plants? Pinching will encourage new stems and leaves and that might be all you plants need to start them growing. I'd also be careful about watering. Plants in containers can dry out quickly and you want to keep the soil moist, but you should allow the top half inch of soil to dry out between waterings. If soil remains saturated it can suffocate roots so be sure to allow it dry slightly between waterings. Enjoy your basil.
