My neighbor has a few peach trees and now some of the leaves are deformed & discolored. Is this a disease or a pest? We looked in some books but could not find a similar deformity. We live in a suburb of Chicago. What can we do about this?

I wonder if the trees have a disease called peach leaf curl? The symptoms are just as you describe and there is a publication from Cornell with photos at this web address: http://plantclinic.cornell.edu...

Check the photos to see if they match. Reddish coloring is usually more pronounced than you see in the photos - at least in my experience. Hope this is helpful.
