I have two plants that I would like to plant together in one pot. However, both of them have this white sap (I hope that is the right word) if you brake it or cut it. Does that mean that they can't coexist with other plants or I have to be very selective?

Some plants ooze a thick latex type sap but it shouldn't harm nearby plants. Good companion plants are those that thrive under the same growing conditions so group your plants in that way rather than what type of sap they ooze. Good luck with your garden!
