Both sides of my house are on the east and west, respectively. They each get full sun, but only for about an hour in a half to 2 hours a day. Should I plant full sun plants on the side or full shade or what? Thank you...

Because morning sun is less intense than afternoon sun you should be able to plant shade loving plants on the east side and sun loving plants on the west side. Usually an hour or two of sun won't hurt shade lovers and a few hours of sun might be all the sun loving plants might need. Or, you can choose the most versatile plants - those that will grow in shade to part sun. Best wishes with your garden.
