Gerbera, or Transvaal Daisy is native to South Africa and is grown as a perennial in warmer sections of the US. In colder regions it's treated as an annual. Generally they're purchased locally, growing pots, already in bloom, rather than started from seed by home gardeners. Look for them at your local garden center.
