| We purchased sevearl ficus trees and the planter took it out of the box and the roots were exposed for a few days. Most of the trees died but leaves are coming from the bottom 1 foot of the tree. The rest of the each tree which is about 10-12 feet are dead with now sprouts or green leaves. Is there any way to save them? Should I cut them down and start over with a new tree. Any recommends? |
| It sounds as though at least one of your ficus is trying to live. If you plant it, it will grow into a shrub and you can train it into a tree shape by removing all the branches and sprouts along the main stem. Ficus are relatively fast growing so it may take a few years, but eventually it will become a tree. If you want faster results, you can replace your ficus. There was a hard freeze in your area about 3 years ago and almost all the ficus trees were affected. But they recovered and now you can barely see which ones were damaged. So, if you don't mind waiting, your ficus will eventually recover. If you want immediate results, I'd suggest replacing them. Best wishes with your ficus. |
