Please tell me how to rid our gardens and lawn of torpedo grass. I don't want to harm a fairly young oak tree and two crepe myrtles in one garden.

Torpedo grass is difficult to control. The Cooperative Extension suggests using Drive 75 (Vantage or Manage), available in most nurseries and garden centers. Multiple applications may be required. Be sure to read the cautions on the label and follow directions completely to prevent damage to your other plants. Good luck with your project!
