| I bought a young hydranea and planted it about a month ago in my garden. Now on its leaves it looks like something has been chewing on them. Also I just noticed a few brown spots on the floweres themselves. What can I do to save my plant. Thanks in advance. |
| Wet weather can cause browning of the flowers, but they will also begin to turn brown as they age. Browing flower petals is not always an indication of insect or disease problems. Caterpillars will sometimes make holes in hydrangea leaves but unless you can find them actively feeding, it's possible they've already feasted and then left the area. In this case, there's nothing you can do - the damage is already done. Inspect your plant several times a day to see if you can find any insects or caterpillars. If you do, pick them off the plant.
