Cuphea is also called 'Mexican Heather' or 'Cigar Flower'. It thrives in sunshine, in well-drainng sandy loam and will grow to 12 inches high. It's a hardy plant, sometimes grown indoors, and will bloom in the late spring or early summer. Most have red-orange blossoms. Other than sun to part shade exposure and regular water, the plant is undemanding and very attractive.
