Answer: Either morning or late afternoon. As long as you avoid the hottest part of the day, your plants will be able to drink their fill. Be sure to water the soil, not the leaves of the plants. If the leaves are wet and the sun shines on the water drops it can scald the leaves. If the leaves remain wet overnight, the plants are more susceptible to diseases. I like to water in the early morning. That way the foliage has a chance to dry out before the sun gets too strong and the plants are well hydrated and ready to face a hot summer's day. Good luck with your garden!
