We had mulch delivered and had way too much so my husband and i decided to expand our perenial beds by laying the mulch over sod. Will this be o.k. by next year to turn into the soil and plant? Thank you , Lorraine

As long as the mulch is several inches thick, it should help kill out the sod. If it is not very thick the grass will grow right through it. I know you've already spread the mulch on the sod but it might be worth your effort to rake it up and remove the sod, then relay the mulch. Either way, you can dig the mulch into the garden bed next year and be ready to plant. Good luck with your project!
