| I have two coral honeysuckles that are infested with aphids. In my research I've found out that the aphids overwinter on the plant. That would explain why they are inside the new blossoms! I've been spraying them with a strong blast of water, but it's so hard to get them all. Is there another way to get rid of them? I'm about ready to cut down both plants. |
| Honeysuckles are magnets for aphids and insecticidal soap sprays (repeated!!) and hosing them off with a strong stream of water are about your only options. I've tried cutting the plants back to ground level to get rid of the overwintering pests and they still converge on all the new growth first thing in the spring. So, keep spraying to control the pests and consider importing some ladybugs. They make quick work of those aphids. |
