In the shady wild back of my yard, Virginia Creeper has taken over. Under it is ivy, which I like. Is there any way to get rid of a large area of Virginia Creeper without harming the ivy underneath?

The only way to get rid of the creeper and spare the ivy is with elbow grease and some good pruners! You could try using an herbicide that would knock down the entire site, then be vigilant about clipping back any regrowth of the creeper, and allow the ivy to bounce back. Sorry I can't offer you something simpler!
