| I am not getting any new blooms and the leaves look very wilted in my hanging baskets. They were beautiful and full when I purchased them. I don't know if it is over or under watering , they are under a porch roof, very little direct sun. I was watering before completely dried out and water until it drained thru. |
| Plants in containers can dry out quickly and sometimes the soil becomes so dry that air pockets develop near the roots. When this happens the water you apply simply runs out of the bottom of the container without actually saturating the soil. Try setting the hanging basket in a larger container of water. Let it sit there until the air bubbles stop rising to the surface (15-20 minutes). At that time you will know the soil is completely wet. You may need to repeat this every 2-3 weeks to make sure no air pockets develop in the potting soil. Be sure to water your plants as often as necessary to keep the soil moist but not soggy wet.
