How do I properly kill St Augustine so it never returns? Sprigs were found 18 - 24" deep. 'Scotts" said "Good Luck"! I would like to replace it with a shade grass because of the 14 trees on my lot in So Cal. What is the best shade grass?

A product called Image Crabgrass Killer contains one of the most effective ingredients - MSMA. It will kill St. Augustine on contact. Be sure to read and follow label directions. Fine fescues are the most shade tolerant grasses so purchase a grass seed mixture blended for shade and you'll find fescues on the label. Good luck with your lawn.
