My jasmine plant won't flower, could I
possibly not know how to care and prune correctly.

If your jasmine isn't flowering it might not be getting enough sunshine. There are several jasmines available and I don't know which one you are growing, but most will be happy with at least 4 hours of sun a day. If yours is in too much shade, it may not bloom at all for you. Jasmine can be prune in early spring just as new growth is beginning. You can try pruning yours back now if it is not blooming and it may put out new flowering stems. I hope so!
