Chipmunks are eating all our roses and our back yard is full of tunnels. Do you sell animal traps, or can you tell me who does?

My father has tried to eliminate chipmunks with this tactic for as long as I can remember. He carts the chipmunks several miles from home and lets them loose, and it never makes a dent in the population! I don't know if they come back, or if others just move into the area, but there always seem to be lots of them around. There are other techniques you can try that may work better: borrow a neighbors dog or cat to patrol the area, and/or get animal hair from a local pet groomer to place around the yard. Burpee does sell fox urine, which can make the critters think someone's hunting them! Try spraying your roses with a home-made garlic and cayenne spray to make the plants spicy - that may deter them! It's best to try a bunch of different things, and keep changing them, so the chipmunks don't figure out the game! Call Burpee at 800/888-1447 for more product information and to an order. If you still want to try trapping them, traps are available from Mellinger's (2310 W. South Range Rd., North Lima OH 44452; ph# 800/321-7444). Best of luck with Chip & Dale and all the rest!
