The Q&A Archives: butterfly bush

Question: I have two buuterfly bushes that I did not trim.It is now almost june is it to late

Answer: If the plants are already greening up and flowering, I'd wait to prune them. If they are just now greening up but not yet flowering, you can prune them back. Flowers are produced on new growth and pruning encourages new spring growth, which should result in lots of flowers later this summer.
