Can you grow tomatoes in a container? Also, what are some other vegetables/fruits that can be grown easily and quickly in containers?

Nearly any vegetable will adapt to growing in containers. Choose smaller or bush varieties for containers. 'Patio Hybrid' tomato was developed just for containers, but you could also grow determinate varieties like 'Celebrity', 'Early Girl', 'Sweet Tangerine', or 'Northern Exposure'. For these, choose a large container--one that holds at least 5 gallons. Peppers and eggplants also grow well in containers--any variety will do. Also bush beans like 'Tenderpod', zucchini, and most herbs. Even vining cucumbers can be grown in containers, providing you give them a trellis to climb. Enjoy your moveable feast!
