The Q&A Archives: Trimming Grape Vines

Question: I've got a grape vine with many grape clusters on just starting on it. I'm wondering if I should nip some of the clusters off, in order to ensure a better more succulent yield.

Answer: Your instincts are correct - removing about half of the grape clusters will result in larger, more flavorful grapes. Clip the clusters off before they flower, or at least before grapes begin to form.
